Racelle Kooy, 2019 Green Party of Canada Candidate for Victoria, B.C, endorses Annamie Paul as the next leader of the Green Party of Canada
Racelle Kooy, 2019 Green Party Candidate for Victoria, has announced she is endorsing Annamie Paul for the leadership of the Green Party of Canada. Ms Kooy said "I know that we can count on Annamie Paul to engage with all Canadians and connect them to the core values and policies of the Green Party of Canada. She will grow the party and our platform for the benefit of all Canadians."
In addition to running in the 2019 federal election, Ms Kooy has served as the Mental Health and Addictions Critic in the Green Party of Canada Shadow Cabinet. She is an entrepreneur with more than 20 years of expertise in communications, government and media relations.
Ms Kooy is a member of Samahquam First Nation with strong family ties to Stswecem’c Xgat’tem and is a former Co-Chair of the Assembly of First Nations Annual General Assemblies and Special Chiefs Assemblies. Kooy has often been a spokesperson for First Nations communities on social justice and sustainable development project and was endorsed by GreenPAC in the 2019 election.
"We don’t need more of the same old representation in politics" said Ms Kooy. "Like me, Annamie has only ever had one political home, the Green Party of Canada, and she is fully committed to its members. Annamie will grow the party and our platform for the benefit of all Canadians, and I am proud to endorse her."
