I am endorsing Annamie Paul, candidate for the Green Party Leadership. Annamie brings the lived experience of being a first-generation Canadian, a woman of colour, and hard work to this race. Her early years saw her engaging in rallies, protests, and strikes in defense of the rights of all citizens. Her education and experience more than prepares her for a leadership role and unlike many present leaders of political parties, she had to work very hard to achieve all she has. Her professional work has been focused on international affairs which provides her a great understanding and ability to work cooperatively and effectively with others worldwide. Her awareness of global challenges, as well as her commitment to supporting NGOs, equips her to work effectively with our global counterparts. She has championed diversity for much of her life and can speak to this from her own lived experience. A sense of humour and a sense of fun never go amiss and Annamie brought this to her 2019 run as a Green Candidate for Toronto Centre. As well, she and her campaign workers helped other Green Candidates in their work. There is no question in my mind that this is the type of leadership we need for the Green Party and I look forward to Annamie moving the Federal Green Party forward.
